Post by dunlupo84 Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:04 pm

firstly sorry for the title

the snake in question is locke my sumatran male

since he has been in the new place he has been very frequent with his evacuations and they haven't been the most solid! (this isnt pleasant i know)

the past three nights has been the same basically i change his papers then he goes again and the cycle continues!

he has had his feed this week and it hasnt really changed anything, he just keeps emptying his guts every evening. before this he was a once or twice a week guy usually solid enough

is this something to worry about? his tongue is flicking very active in the evening always pleasant and is as strong as a ever

has anyone ever experienced this with their retics?

I have had a python with the runs before, it was like turning on a tap, I noticed he was about to poop so I held his tail over a tub and it just gushed out, never seen anything like it! It happened a few times and resolved itself, I was told not to worry. I don't know if it's the same with your chap, and good luck with him. I'm sure others will have better advice, though I thought it would help to know someone else has had a poopy python.

Oh very poopy! I suppose his feeding regime has been upset and he is in a different climate now soi should give him the benefit of the doubt!

Completely coincidentally with the move, it could be something else entirely. First thing I would do is get a sample to the vet and get it tested. There could have been something dodgy in a meal or anything.

The stress of a move should not be causing this.
