Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
Looking forward to meeting anyone who can make it. From certain 'rumours' I have heard, there are going to be some fantastic animals on show, a great variety of keepers displaying their animals on the day and plenty to see and talk about. Most of all (for me in any case) it is a great opportunity to meet people from the forums and the Herp Society, and put faces to names. It is brilliant to be able to chat about reptiles to people who are actually bothered!
It is nice to come out of the 'internet bubble' every once in a while and appreciate that forum personalities are actually real life people (in some cases!),
I will try to bring some nice animals myself. I'm really looking forward to seeing Elaine's uros!

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
I know, it's a mind buggler alright. I would normally transport snakes in bags/polyboxes, but obviously that's not suitable for this event!
how to display a 10 ft + snake? Thinking on dragging along a big herptek viv, but that means messing my reptile room up! :(
Perhaps I'll just stick to smaller animals
Looking forward to meeting you also Elaine

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
ah i tell ye this thinking lark hurts, have to figure out if i can get a full viv down the stairs without killing someone though it would be far handier if i could bring his viv would solve a lot of problems with him. the geyri is gonna have a nice tub and he will be fine.
looking forward to meeting everyone i have to say, its gonna be a good day and i can see people having to be forced out the door when its over

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
There's ways of doing things. Get onto Steve with the details of equipment, and to locate the fine definitions of queries on rules.
Although we aim to get the venue cleared by 4:30 (the venue has an open day the next day and we want to make sure everything is cleaned etc), there won't be too much shoving people out of the door......it would be a dignified request for people leave in a respectful and orderly manner. :)
Rules are rules, they are there for a good reason, and they apply to all of us.

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
Just an update.....
The Irish Tropical Fish Society have been invited to be in attendance with a small stand.
So we will have a few additional people who may be able to help out or chat with general aquatic items eg fish, filters for turtles and axolotls etc.
There is still time to get onto Steve at Science@thehsi.org to book animals for the Show and Tell.
I understand that people booking Inverts and Amphibians to bring is a little low in number at present.
Anyone wish to bump those numbers up? Contact Steve.

Yeah. Don't do that Morellia.
This could loom so quickly that it could take us unaware.
Mind you, it is the best excuse I've heard so far for not being there on the 5th March. :)
Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
I can make a post on their forum to see if anyone does keep them or has kept them.
Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
Ooopps! My bad. Thats what I get for popping on and skim-reading to save time. 5th March....unless something pops up I'll aim to get down that way with maybe a few other peeps from NI?
Luckily I don't have to work every Saturday Mark - that wouldn't be fun at all!

Re: Reptile Show and Tell in Dublin.
If anyone wants to download and print this or distribute it to others, then it can be downloaded at

https://s511.photobucket.com/albums/s357/igmillichip/Herpetological%20Society/?action=view¤t=ShowandTellPoster.jpg
Remember this is Saturday 5th March.
The Irish Tropical Fish Society will also be there.
(ps. I could have attached the poster, but it is quite big, and In didn't want to overload the site here.)
Hoping to see some familiar and some new faces.
Look out for continuing updates from members of the HSI.
