the 2 normals where twins(both came out of the same birth sack). All 4 of those snakes are from the same litter. The twins where extremely small, and it looks like they are going to stay that way.Cool

The Salmons are gorgeous and how interesting to know they are all litter mates yet an obvious size difference. Do twins tend to be smaller and stay so?

Re: boas by phil.............
These are the first twins i have persoanlly came across, usually when you have freshly born boas most have already broke out of their birth sacks. If these had already broke out i wouldnt even have known they where twins.
Im not really sure about twins always being smaller, but i suppose as they have to share the same birth space etc...........
If i had of had more space i would have kept these 2 out of pure curiosity, but also they are great looking little boas.

i'll keep stickin pics up every few months. maybe they will keep growing as the salmons slow down, but their growth rate seems slower at the minute. they are alot more placid than the salmons too..................

Re: boas by phil.............
Cool snakes.
Twins are actually quite common in boids. Personally I have produced them in a litter of Sonorans back when I lived in Ireland. This was a litter of 50% poss hets from around 2002. THe second set I produced was from an albino to a pastel in 2007, and then this year that same male albino sired two sets of twins in the albino litter. One sac contained an albino and a het, and another contained two hets. Although twinning is common in reptiles, Ihave heard only a few reports of monozygotic twins.

If the twins in Trunx pics had of been identical i would deffinatly held them back.
Warren do you have any info about growth rates of twins born small? ie do they eventually grow to normal sized adults?
