Moving house with my snakes
Anyone any experience with this?
My questions
Would you hold back feeding them for a week or two either side of the move?
My reasoning for this is the fact that the reptile room they are in at the minute has been their room since I have started keeping snakes.the room that I am moving them into wouldn't be as warm as the room they are in at the minute.so I am expecting they will take a while to settle in due to the room temps and air pressure being slightly different.so I would expect a few missed feeds if I was to try and feed them straight away. Is holding off feeding until they are settled in the right thing to do? And if I am planning to move them over the course of this week leading in to the weekend would you miss this weeks feed?
There are seven snakes all in all
2 juvenile retics
1 adult boa
3 carpet pythons 1 adult 1 juvenile 1 baby
1 Burmese python
I expect them to all feed okay when they settle in,just don't have the experience inthe moving dept. Any advice and opinions would be very welcome

I wouldn't think it would do them any harm to miss a couple of feeds and would stop any regurges due to the move.

Re: Moving house with my snakes
I moved house a while back and kept all mine on the same feediing regime.
No probs at all. All the best with the move.........Unless of course your moving the day before. Or on the day they get fed.

Re: Moving house with my snakes
Yeah I didn't have any issues either, the biggest issue I had was was moving the vivs (we drove them up the motorway in a trailer!) and sitting in the back seat piled high with polyboxes trying to convince my rather curious jag that as interesting as the outside world is, he'd be much happier in the box!
As for feeding, there wasn't an issue at all, we just kept on our normal regime, the snakes didn't seem to notice.

Re: Moving house with my snakes
We moved house a couple of days after doing a round of feeds a few years back with no issues, just stuck to the normal feeding regime. They were still in the same enclosures after moving and they all ate within a couple of days of moving again. I wouldn't worry too much about them.
