Re: new day gecko
Nice set up, this is a really nice species of gecko and they do get quite tame. Good luck with it.

Hi
We have two Madagascan Day geckos and to start with they were very nervous and fast, now thay are a lot more relaxed and will come and take locusts and crickets from your fingers. Hopefully we have a pair but are still a bit young to sex accurately. Have you any plans to add another when you know the sex of the one you have got?
Cheers

Re: new day gecko
hey man yea this wee one is jumpy like but hes not too bad once he realises i have food, i made a little cricket holder out of the top 3rd of a mountain dew bottle which fits nicely into the bamboo upright. i hold it up for him and he will jump in grab one and away again then i put it in the upright so he learns its a little food bowl, seems to be working as its getting emptied and i know they cant get out and he has taken 2 crickets outa my hand so seems to be very food orientated which is a good thing.
i dare say i will look into possibly getting a pair but i dont want to run before i can walk so will see how things go with this wee one...

Re: new day gecko
Beautiful little gecko and nice to hear how well he is settling in. I don't think it will be too long before you find yourself with another :)
Re: new day gecko
thanks tan, yea he seems to be doing well so far so hope it stays that way but i think i am only allowed one more animal here for a while and have a green annie coming in time for xmas so i think that will do me for a bit, fast running out of space... not good.
