Leopard Gecko Morph?
After caving in a little and letting my eldest daughter get a Leopard Gecko, she got this little girl. I've no idea which morph it is so I'd like your thoughts please!! It won't make any difference - I'd just like to know! :truth1:

Re: Leopard Gecko Morph?
She's very pretty. I would have guessed a Hypo-Tangerine as they can be yellowy to bright orange. The flippin size of her Raymond (she could eat some of my females lol) looking good, are you going to mate her?

No, Tanya, I was hoping to get a male gecko to do it instead! . Thanks Tanya and Emma for your thoughts on her. I may eventually get a male to put with her (such ideas have already been mentioned by my eldest!); we shall see...

Lovely looking Gecko Raymond, didn't realise that leos could grow so big, haven't got a clue about morphs so will leave the id to someone more knowledgeable.
Hope this isn't instead of the beardies, as you know Adam promised Hannah at least three ! (looks like it will happen sooner rather than later as we are fairly confident that eggs will be laid any day now)

Thats a cracker Leo Raymond - and thats coming from a die-hard python fanatic!
No idea on the morph, but from keeping these briefly in the past I know that one person worth googling for more info is Ron Tremper, he's a long-term keeper and breeder of Leopard Geckoes based in the U.S.

Re: Leopard Gecko Morph?
Tremper is the guy I imported off earlier this year Raymond (the bold bandits) and I highly recommend his book but I'm sticking by my original guess :)
Re: Leopard Gecko Morph?
i didnt think Hypo tangerines had any black spotting on them at all, thats what makes them a hypo?? Probably wrong- I am not up on genetics at all!

Re: Leopard Gecko Morph?
Nope Hypos can and do have rather defined black spots some times
"NORMAL PHENOTYPE" (DOMINANT)
This refers to the typical leopard gecko coloration of black spots on a variety of base colors. The “normal” phenotype is dominant over all recessive traits (albino, patternless, and blizzard). Therefore, a gecko carrying only one copy of a recessive trait would have at least some degree of black spotting.
Normal morph is a term that is often used to describe wild-type leopard geckos. Wild type leopard geckos are usually heavily spotted on a brownish yellow base color. “Normal” phenotype includes the wild type leopard geckos, but also any other morph that is able to produce black spots, including hypo tangerine, high yellow, lavender, pastel, jungle, etc.
