Need some info
Got 2 wee female leo gecko's 1x albino 1xhypo, came home from work and the hypo had died, fed them locusts last night, it appears she had eaten both of them but they hadnt digested properly. Could this be what caused her to die? Sad but we r burying her 2mor R.I.P Clio x

Re: Need some info
I presume they were rightly sized locusts compared to the leo? just going roughly what I know of them is that a 5th locust is more than enough for one leo, and mines roughly 10 months and a fair size, also considering their stomach is roughly the size of the distance between their eyes
no doubt it choked on the locust, personally I just put the locust in and wait 10 minutes and if it hasnt been eaten then take it out
sorry to hear for your loss :( never nice losing any pet

Re: Need some info
Ah ok, well seems like you said one just choked on the locust, their stomach arent very big. What age is your leo anyway? maybe just one locust would do a day and keep an eye on her make sure they are eating them ok?:)
oh what did you get?:)

Re: Need some info
sorry to hear, it sounds as if it might have choked, i dont feed mine locusts at all, generally only crickets or mealworms. but thats mainly because i have them for the beardies anyway. locusts have quite sharp legs aswell could have maybe cut open there throat. a post mortum can be quite expensive to get done.
that is a nice bit of retail therapy!!
glad i dont have your disposible income or id have no room at all to live in! its bad enough as it is!!!

Re: Need some info
Yeah I guess it depends on their age and locust size, never any problems wit mine but one is definitely big enough for my leo whos round 10 months and on 5ths
wooow very nice retail therapy there indeed :P always fancied a mantis but alas i shall stick to just my leo :)

Re: Need some info
Sorry to hear about your lose mate.
As other people have said it sounds like the wee guy choked.
Always air on the side of caution when feeding.
It's always better to feed two smaller things than 1 massive thing.
