Re: Striped dude
What a pretty boy Karl, so would it be easier to list all the animals you don't now own Do you intend to breed your leos at some stage?
Re: Striped dude
Lovely little striped dude there sir....just a shame he has no females there atm as we have two males still looking for love here

Re: Striped dude
Thanks guys and gals
@ Tan - yep I'd love to have a go at breeding Leos myself, you just can't beat home-grown IMO.
@ Buddy - I had the reverse problem! I've had 2 young females for a while (which admittedly took an age to come across) and whe I saw Ady had a selection of males there I had to snatch one to make a trio.
@Mandxx - yep they are very easy to keep. I'm not an overly lizard person as I can't be bothered with the whole feeding live insects as a staple diet / providing UV light caper, however these guys thrive on mealworms and can live very happily without UV light (although I think I recall Ian Millichip mentioning that UVA can be beneficial to Leos).
@ Lisa - that is one nice Leo! While I'm not a fan of albino-type morphs in these guys I do love stripes. How does the striping genetics work in Leos? Is it recessive or co-dom or something else?

Re: Striped dude
Well its specifically crickets that do my head in - I've spent far too much time in the past searching for the darn things in the small hours of the morning when they start calling and wake the whole house up. They're noisy, always escape, can be hard for some reps to catch and they don't keep for long before dying on you. Oh, and to breed your own you'd have to put up with a lot of noise. So I opt for less annoying fodder for insect-eaters.....mealworms and dubia roaches.
I feed my Leos on mealworms in a dish, as I think most peeps do? and they don't escape, don't make any noise and.......as far as breeding them, I'll tell you in a month or so.
Dubia roaches - thanks to the help of a few forum members I have a good sized colony and they are breeding away. No smell, no noise, the T's love them, and any time I offer an appropriately-sized one to a Leo they wolf it down.

Re: Striped dude
I think the striped gene is recessive Karl.
that girl is our supergiant tremper albino stripe - i don't like washed out looking albino geckos, but this girl is soooo rich in colour!
her eyes are amazing, i need to attempt a shot of them.
Are you putting this boy to normals karl?
