Calm as any snake av had yet. Waited a long time ( as Phil knows lol ) for the right Hogg ( male ) to come along, well worth the wait.
Have him now going on 3 months, really delighted I never just took the first Hogg that came along. Learnt the hard way over the years. Real strong pink blushes on head and cheeks, his body has a very strong pink hue even at this young age.

Took me about 30 mins to pick him out of a batch of about 30 odd new borns. Feeding well and sheds well too, so all is well up to now.

Great snakes, especially as ATM I limited space wise.

Nice one mate, I love the Hogs too, and was lucky enough to pick up two nice ones myself last year, one as a rehome, one a grown on male.
I hear what you're saying about waiting for the right one, as far as I'm concerned, Hogs are the Last of the Mohicans of the boa world
lol!

Glad you found one you were happy with, all the best with it, enjoy!

Sorry Tan, been ill fer a few weeks but on the mend the noo.

He's doing great, putting on weight / size and temperament wise is still as placid as ever, really love this guy.

Got 2 great 4ft vivs of Ady round Xmas time and have it all decked out, was a bit dubious about putting him into such a large viv, but no fear, he loves it, eats, sheds and just acted as if he was in his 2ft viv. This sset up wi do him for life.

Tried a wee trick to maintain the humidity levels without needing to spray the viv, got a wee litter tray and filled it wi the wee clay balls, soaked them in water then topped the tray up, placed it along the back wall 2 thirds of the way up the viv towards the heat light, but not directly under it. ( covered it with an ivy, not even noticeable )

Works a treat humidity levels are spot on ( as are the temps ) there's just a very fine haze of moisture on the glass as the viv comes up to the daytime temps WIMO is just about right, sheds have been clean and regular, so all is good on the husbandry front.

Will take some pic's of the set up later and try 'n get some of the wee man too.

Thanks for asking.

Iain.

Cheers m8, I do like a natural set up, but as he grows obviously this set up will have to be readdressed.

The set up will be the same but with larger branches / natural hides.

OMG, can ya come down and do some of mine, my poor snakes would cry if they saw how nice this is compared to their pretty drab in comparison enclosures ffs My wait is over ( Hogg Island ) 772154

Simplistic is easy but that's about it, I would much rather have a natural looking aesthetically pleasing set up like this, FANTASTIC stuff My wait is over ( Hogg Island ) 792195

So long as the daily checks / husbandry is carried out there are no real problems keeping a natuarlistic set up IMO.

Thanks for your kind words. My wait is over ( Hogg Island ) 358472
