Re: citron (het titanium) retics
Hey! It's hard to know what size they'll get to, to be honest. Males will generally steady out with growth rate at a smaller size than females, but there is no guarantee they will not exceed 15/16 ft.
I spoke to Bob Clark about this last year, and he feeds his males quite a bit less than the females - this seems to be true of most breeders. Smaller males are thought to make the best breeders, whereas females need girth and size to carry them through egg production. He said most of his males are about the 12 ft mark, after many years.
Giants are much less common than many people think, even with females - with many seeming to even out at about 16/17 ft. But many people have not had these snakes for very long periods of time, so who knows in the future.
The original tigers were very large, and this seems to have passed on to many tigers now - they will often grow larger than other morphs. So that's worth bearing in mind.
I doubt this male will grow all that large going his parent's size/build etc...but with a mainland retic you've always got to keep it in mind and be prepared. They are the longest snakes in the world after all!
These two are in a rack now, and are moving into 4x2x2 vivs over the next few days.
The bigger girls we have are in 8x2 1/2x2 vivs and have plenty of room for now
