Meet Bertie
Unfortunately Rowena had to have her german shepard Sheba put to sleep and was totally heart broken here so as a wee treat and to help her get over it Bertie arrived tonight.....
He's an 8 month old rehome in need of lots of tlc so hopefully he'll help to keep her mind off Sheba a little bit

Re: Meet Bertie
Sorry to hear about Sheba Buddy, i've never had to get one put down but i lost my first dog after someone let her out and she got hit by a car, she died in my arms on the way to the vet, it's very upsetting losing a dog. Thats a lovely new addition though, bu the doesn't look to impressed with having his photo taken in the second pic
Great pics too by the way

Re: Meet Bertie
Cheers Jonty, she was 16/17, amazing for a shepard, and her back end had been bad for a few years but she eventually lost control of her back legs and was trailing them behind her so it was for the best as she had lost all feeling in them....

Re: Meet Bertie
It's terrible to see them go like that, my wifes cousin had to go through the same thing last month with her rottweiler, not just as old as 16/17 but had arthritis in the spine, it was sad to see him struggling so much, so she had to have him put down, but as you said Buddy it's for the best, as much as you don't want to do it you just can't watch them suffer, it's a very difficult decision to have to make.....
Re: Meet Bertie
I'm so sorry to hear about Sheba. It is never easy to go through but by the sounds of things Sheba had a long happy life.
Guys, super huge well done on the rescue. I cannot have more respect for people who open their home to the dumped, unwanted, mistreated or just animals in need of some love and care and I think Bertie has well and truly landed on his feet going to live with you guys. Sorry for going off on one, I just think dues should be given.
Bertie looks slightly cantankerous in the second image but that first one, he'd melt the coldest of hearts

Re: Meet Bertie
Now that first image is fantastic, RESULT!! Well done Buddy, they seem very happy and it must be nice for them to have their own company too. I would have been a nervous wreck waiting to see how it all panned out.
