Ah good you're going too Lisa, looking forward to meeting you too :tu;
Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
We're hoping to be there at about 1pm, to sort out vivs, projector, heating, and refreshments.
For me, it will be great to meet people whom I've not met previously apart from within the digital universe.

The talks were great, it was good to get to finally meet you Ian and Justine
Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
I really enjoyed the talks and also the demo from Steve - and was good to chat to yourself, Justine, Mark and Steve again!
I have to be biased though, the purple Retic and Black-headed stole the show for me (I'm a python nerd at heart).

Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
Jonty.....Justine sends her thanks, and enjoyed meeting and chatting to you.
Hope that the living 'in-the-flesh' whip tailess scorpion hasn't tempted you into setting up yet another viv. (I saw the post on Tony W's thread :) ).
Morellia, it's been a while since we last met up. Justine says it was good to meet you again.
Don't worry about still having a bias towards snakes......a step towards Tarantulas is a step in the right direction. You'll see sense one day :)
I was most impressed by the orange asian snakes Steve brought along...I even got some nice macro shots. (i'll have to copy-n-paste the name of them.....Oreocryptophis porphyraceus ssp). Cool. Nice and small, and about my size limit for a snake.
Steve's probing service and demo is very good, and he explains the ins-n-outs of it all.

Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
Steves Probing demo was brilliant. One of the snakes he had was Oreocryptophis porphyraceus coxi (the one with the black striping), not sure about the other one though
Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
Coxi generally will readily bite and my female is not too bad but the male, holy cow, he LOVES the taste of Tan in the mornings :) but on the plus side mine don't empty their bowls which is something I suppose. I do hate that.
Stupid question here guys, but, after these talks does anyone do a write up of the talk and what was contained within, slides or images of the subjects etcetera.

Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
The other snake was O. laticinctus Marty - just as beautiful as the coxi, although coxi surely have to be THEE best looking ratsnake out there?
The content of the talks will go up on the HSI website in due course I believe Tan.

Re: Tarantula Keeping and Reptile Equipment Talks
I'm so gutted I missed the talks and meeting/catching up with people.
I had rather a disastrous day which resulted in a dead horse :(
Roll on the next event, I can't wait
