Re: hows the breeding going
Barney, last year i only witnessed 1 hookup, but still got quite a few clutchs, just keep pairing your planned breeding and i wish you luck
so far this year i have 4 clutches in the incubator, one of those clutches is due to hatch at the end of the month,i still have 4 female corns that will hopfully produce for me,but who knows!
I have 1 gravid boa, another one that was mated but noting seems to be happeneing and the males have lost interest,my het leopards have started hooking up,and at last my poss super hypo sonoran has start to court the female hypo.
I have also been pairing my MT kings, the male has been showing a bit of interest but as of yet no hook ups that i have witnessed

Re: hows the breeding going
Our wee amel is dropping eggs as we speak, she was paired with our ghost motley (though Barney says he's something else, the name of which I can't remember lol)...
Our Yellow 'Conda is gravid...
We have our Western Hoggies paired again...
That's it for now, looking into another few bits, but not for now.
Next year and the year after, when pairs and adults well established will be our main breeding years for now :)

Re: hows the breeding going
Well, I paplpated my sonoran female yesterday as she is definitely gravid. Now I have to wait to see if the male did the job or if she is simply carrying slugs. Fingers crossed for the former. Some more super hypos would be nice.

Re: hows the breeding going
Goodto hear Warren, hopefully she's gonna give you more lil crackers this year!
My female Sonoran is still swelling nicely (photos posted in Sonoran thread) so hopefully I'm in the same boat as Warren / Phil :) - this would be my first boa breeding so I'm veeeeery excited!!
I'm trying a few other things this year but nothing definite as yet.

Re: hows the breeding going
Unfortunately in boas, copulations do not always result in ovulations. This is one reason boas are not as reliable in terms of reproducing, as corns or kings. Its also one of the reasons they are attractive to keep. For example, I am not convinced that my arabesque is gravid as although she has been bred over 100 times by a salmon hypo male, I have not seen an ovulation. There is alwasy next year. At least they know what to do. However, as I have noted before, my sonorans always are notoriously late ovulators. last years litter was not untile August.
Be patient young grasshopper.

Re: hows the breeding going
My female corn is possibly gravid, I've noticed bumps in her abdomen so there could be eggs there. I haven't witnessed any mating between her and the male but they're behind the sofa out of sight of the landlord so I don't see them unless I look behind the sofa so it's a possiblity that they mated
There's also a possibility that my boa is gravid, but won't know for certain until the summer. If she hasn't dropped babies by then, then she wasn't gravid to begin with

Re: hows the breeding going
Congrats on the hatchlings Phil. Keep us posted on the ratios of each morph and get some pictures up.
Looks like we both have boa litters due mid to late May. Hopefully it will be a good month for baby boa pictures.
