Making Backgrounds Move....
This was extracted from Marty's "New Camera" post in this section...it may be useful for those looking to experiment with movement in an image.....again, get out there and give it a go....you'll surprise yourself!!
With moving subjects have a play around with continuous focus if your camera has it......focus and track the subject through it's movement, release the shutter...what you get is a focused subject and blurred or moving background...it adds to the motion and movement in an image....here are a couple of examples...
Try this with runners, cyclists, scooters & Motorbikes, cars....in fact pretty much anything that moves....what about a nice big lizard on a warm day [in a confined environment of course!!] running through the garden or such like...that would be pretty spectacular!
Image details....
F stop : f16
Shutter: 1/40
Lens : 70 - 300mm VR Nikor
Focal length: 165mm
