lads how long or what age would you remove the hides from a viv? have had my hogg island since he was about 4 months he is almost a year now and is in a 2.5 x2 ft viv.any ideas?

i wouldnt remove it at all unless he is out growing it and the viv!
if thats the case its just time for an upgrade me thinks!

id agree, both my hogg islands have hides, for the larger i use a washing up bowl with hole cut in side. not good for show purposes as they do stay there a while. but they are alot happier with them, iv tried my male and he is easier handled with one, was a narky pig without.

some snakes will feel very exposed without a hide,most of my vivs have paper in them so they will hide under that to feel safe, if ur snake is used to a hide i wouldnt change that.

laugh out loud lol

Females hides should be removed if they are being bred as they will most likly give birth in the hide as this is where they feel safe,problem is the mother may lie on the babies and kill them!
