This is our little rescue crestie Stevie. As you can see when we got him he was in a pretty bad way. His eyes were cloudy and massively swollen but hes all better now.

in the mornings he likes to poke out the smaller hole at the back to soak up some UV.

At the side of his rub we stuck a thick sheet of card so to blackout the inside of his hollow branch which is mounted on the side, we can lift the sheet up and peek into his hide to make sure hes ok.

I think I remember this chap!
Good to see he made a full recovery, did the swelling damage his vision in the end?
Looks like he has a very spacious home, must be a happy gecko. Good job.

hey Sofiya. Nope, hes got the eyes of a feckin hawk!! if i put him at one end of the sofa and i sit at the other end holding a wax worm as far away as possible his eyes will lock onto it and he will then begin his slow-motion ninja stalk lol all the way across the sofa, up my arm, across my chest, up my other arm then jump on that wax worm like he hasnt been feed for a week haha hes a we beast! cheers sofiya

No way!!! Thats not the same Gecko!!! What a turn around Im very happy to see him doing so well, he's in good hands ;-) I think you should call him "Hawkeye the Ninja Gecko" lol, the pics of him are cool but the one with him in the hollow branch is the best, well done mate ;-)

Great success story. How did you treat the eye problem? I ask because my crested gecko has just developed an eye with the same symptoms! He's on anti-biotics now but vet didn't seem too hopeful of a recovery.

Thanks.

sorry for the late reply .... we found the anti-biotic eye drops to be useless and just dried into a sticky gunk over his eyes which we would repeatedly have to clean off with cotton buds probably because of the fact that they have caps over their eyes so the drops where unable to get in. the problem can be caused from a fall, and have then suffered from some shock and trauma which can lead to their tear ducts being blocked. we put him in a smaller viv so he couldn't fall, raised the temp slightly to help his immune system and put a towel over his viv to make him as relaxed and as stress free as possible. hope this helps and i hope he gets better.

Thanks for replying. I've tried oral antibiotics but it only helped briefly so now I'm letting nature takes its course and hoping it will sort it's self out. I too have raised the temp. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for the info.
