Cool pics Joe, my Suntigers have done the same thing and I rarely see either of them! The roaches keep disappearing and the odd time I come across a mout so they must be in there somewhere!
My guess is that, being arboreal, the heavy webbing helps to protect them from bird predators.....or at least warn them that predators are there. Great for the T, not so great for our enjoyment of the animal itself.

I came across a molt half pushed out of the hole about 6 days ago, haven't seen him in ages but at least I know he's alive. :P He does pop his head out at times but he's back in again as soon as I spot him, wish he'd come out for a nosey more often!

Yep, deffo a Psalmopoeus thing, more webbing on the way too if it is anything like my pulcher, which has a mad webbed lair, and also the best reaction to food walking on the web; swift and sure killer!
