Chinese cave geckos "Yin and Yang"
Received these beautiful little geckos as a Christmas pressie from John.
They are quite laid back and don't seem to mind being handled too much, .
Female Yin
Male Yang

Awesome geckoes, anything with red eyes gets my vote! I remember bringing a few of these little guys back for a friend a few years ago and I didn't want to let them go!
Are they kept cooler than other geckoes? What sort of size do they max out at?
I echo what Phil said, these are beautiful little geckoes and I wonder why they aren't more popular. Animals like these don't need morphs, they are stunning as is.

These are incredible! I have no idea why they're not more popular, I'd love some myself. Good luck with these little fellows, hope they live a long, healthy life with you!
Re: Chinese cave geckos "Yin and Yang"
they are stunning.... i'd ditto the question from Morelia's post an ask, do they need cooler temps due to their cave dwelling nature ???

Stunning!! I bet you are chuffed to bits with them. Mel is the cave Gecko guru, she kept rare species and successfully bred them & I was blessed to meet and play with them many years ago now. Stunning little things!
Re: Chinese cave geckos "Yin and Yang"
Awesomeness
Brought back a few of these from Haam in the past - I think they will gain in popularity as more people become aware of them and they become more readily available over here, with a few people in Ireland breeding them now that I know of.
It's not all that long ago that crested geckos were almost unheard of in Ireland

Re: Chinese cave geckos "Yin and Yang"
Thanks everyone for the kind comments, they are very striking geckos and we are really pleased with them. From what we have found out they can be kept at lower temps than leopard geckos and also require a much higher humidity, they are also good climbers. We have them in a set up with sand substrate at one end with a cave hide (cool end) and sphagnum moss on top of damp coco soil with another cave at the other end. This end is over a heat mat which is temp controlled at a max of 85oF. They seem to eat most live foods with roaches as the all time favourite, ours are only about half grown and it seems they can take up to 2 years before they reach a breeding weight of around 30 grms.
Several people in Ireland are currently breeding them with 5 juveniles advertised for sale recently on another forum.
Hopefully we will have eggs next year!
