EBV pastel, orange-tail hypo, ginger line, just born
These were just born an hour ago. 120 days post-ovulation. The female did not go through a post-ovulation slough. Stunning litter, but bad pictures. I still need to replace my camera after it died a few weeks ago. Great time to die given its right on birthing time here in my collection. Anyway, here is the mother before she was pregnant:

I will get new pics once they have sloughed, and hopefully with a better camera, lol.

Warren, I read a little about this ginger line on the RI forum. Can you explain exactly what the ginger line is.

Re: EBV pastel, orange-tail hypo, ginger line, just born
Sure Phil.
I was introduced to the Ginger line 5 years ago when I called up to see AJ Schneller who lives just outside Raleigh here in North Carolina. I was collecting some ginger line hypos for friends in Delaware (John and Jane Camp of the Leopard Amazon tree boa fame). Anyway, they showed me a recent litter they had from a female they named ginger. The snake was bought from a pet store as a snake that was left in by previous owners who could no longer keep her. She was unexceptional, and looked just like any normal adult Colombian boa. When bred to an orange-tailed hypo, the results were exceptional. Extreme aberrancy, the characteristic head spear split, light cream tail saddle splits, dark borders the saddles, etc. The black that normal outlines the saddles was purple. Anyway, he sold most of these for good money ($800 to $2500). He kept three for himself and gave me one. Mine was one of the lower expression aberrancy snakes, but it is still exceptional. I believe I am the first to bred and a ginger line OT hypo from this generation. The results are carbon copies of the father.
Since producing these, AJ contacted me asking if I wanted to take over the entire project. 1.2 OT hypo gingers (high expression), all the reptilebasics 4ft enclosures, stats, etc. I said yes and they will be delivered next Friday. These are all adult and ready to breed this season. The aim this season therefore is to see if there is a super form. Our opinion is that this is a new line of Jungle. Obviously, they cannot be called jungle due to that name referring the the Swedish line. My plan is also to breed a male to a jungle. If they are compatible, it will produce an outbred "super". I will update this thread with pictures next week once the news animals arrive.
Its an exciting project. So much for moving out of my Colombian projects. I just got in deeper......

Re: EBV pastel, orange-tail hypo, ginger line, just born
I have ordered a Nikon D60, so once that arrives I will have some decent pictures. If my last camera didn't die recently, these pictures would have been my usual quality, but alas, they are TURD.
