Mother Nature In Action
I found these guys had hatched and were ready for the world yesterday so obviously I had to grab the camera lol.
This guy is not walking on air, or sunshine for that matter lol he had the finest of threads which the camera failed to pick up :(
I moved them very carefully into a tupperware container in order to relocate them in the garden as a back door frame isn't the best place to start your new life.
I sat and watched them for a few moments and noticed a few of the spiderlings were very obviously different to their siblings.
So I tried to get a good image to show what I was seeing, in a nut shell, some of the babies lacked any body markings, their legs we noticeably lighter, their body colour ranged from white to a very light yellow and their eyes were red/pink.
Now how cool is nature? I was so friggin excited seeing the babies had hatched out let alone finding that. This is the first time I've ever noticed this. I was very tempted to hold one or two back and see what they grow into but I had no reason to justify capturing one but how awesome is that?

Very cool Tan! Do you have any photos / description of the egg sac?
I'd definitely keep a few and grow them on, what better to way learn what they are!
Whats even cooler is that some of the slings are albinos!
We have quite a few egg sacs around the house from various species at the moment, I'm waiting on them hatching so I can see what they grow into. I'll get some pics up when I get a chance.

Incredible shots Tan! If I wasn't so terrified of the buggers I'd love to do something like this myself!

Re: Mother Nature In Action
These are my all time favorite native Karl (as far as I am aware). Do you remember the talk we had about Garden spiders, well mine have been super busy this year and made me a very happy camper :) so now I cannot say their numbers have diminished when we have a few hundred more in the last few days and some nice big girls knocking about too.
