Imagine gardening, digging up an area of soil and loads of little things you've never seen before start to make their way across your lawn. Well that's what happened with this little guy. Most made their way into the grass but this one stayed, was picked up and brought to me as they had no idea what he was and even wondered had they escaped from someones house. Anyway I was rather privileged to see this little baby and also to know there was a good few more near him. Such a beautiful animal. I'll get some more of my images up soon but for now...

Super photos Tan, they are beautiful animals especially when you get to see them with that much detail.

I never thought we had newts around us but last year found one in a puddle outside the back door! They can be elusive little blighters, much harder to find than frogs.

I don't blame you Steve. I wouldn't tell anyone either.

Lisa I can just see you in your sun hat, Trowel in hand, camera too lol

Karl, I knew we had them but had no idea where and have never ever seen one outside other peoples pictures so was little a giddy teenager when I saw this little one.

Soooo cool.

Yeah, I actually visitited a few garden centres and planted loads of stuff last week, my broken elbow is protesting now!!!!

I think I'm getting old and turning into my dad :( But the only wildlife I've found while digging up soil is earthworms, loads of ants and some horrible looking spiders....:(
