Here comes trouble...
The Jamps! Naughty girls. The first lady is cracked. She did her best to bite and coil Dave and Steve over and over again - second picture is awful but I'm including it as you can kind of see how she had her head open, showing us how much she appreciated being handled....Everything is food to her, and she does not settle down when out for a while either!

And the second girl - much slimmer. She settles down fine once she realises she's not being fed, but definitely requires gentle and cautious handling or she will lay down the law with you!

Dave put on his shorts especially for Tan, felt he couldn't let her down

Gorgeous snakes Lisa!!!!!!!!!!! They might be a bit pissed in the pics but I'd say they more than appreciated the fresh air now we kind of have the weather for it!!! All mine have been out at least twice over the last few weeks!

Re: Here comes trouble...
They're two different retics Rob...He didn't let the first girl's head go at all, she was in kill mode and that was that! The second girl is alright once you get her out, bit flighty, typical retic.
Buddy, they're 5 yrs old I'm told, probably coming up 6. We've had them 8-9 months now.
It's nice to get them out for a bit of fresh air and exercise alright Joe!

Ta Paul, you need to stick up more pics of the supertiger, haven't seen him in ages!
We're not pairing tics up at the mo, will try in a few months time. Males need a bit of maturing. We were going well and had plenty of locks earlier in the season, but these girls attacked the platty male who is our only proven breeder, and now he is terrified of women Our dwarf albino turning out to be not a male was a severe setback for us, as our dwarf het female is ready to go. Need a good male for them both, perhaps the SD het albino will do his thing later in the yr!

They are, most Jamps don't get to this size. Apparently most will settle out 10ft or under. Ah, you'll get used to them and grow to adore them soon enough Phil! Took a little while for the first girl here to melt my heart! She's a nuisance in that I can't do anything with her by myself at all, I'm just not strong enough. The strength of that girl is unbelievable. Poor Steve (Dave's brother) in the pics was seriously under pressure
Re: Here comes trouble...
Remember you saying bout the dwarf albino, its a shame!
ill have all my fingers n toes crossed for you this year!!

Yeah, I know a mature female is more valuable, but not much use when you're no male!
We didn't feed the albino the way we fed the het either as we thought she was a he (thanks graham!). So she needs feeding on now also. It'll all work out better at the end of the day though I hope!

Hey Lisa, time spent in preparation is time seldom wasted....we're all looking forward to your [and Dave's] Retic projects bearing fruit.... I for one can't wait for your planned offspring down the line.....
Re: Here comes trouble...
Thanks Tony, it'll be special with the animals we've grown on from hatchlings ourselves especially - which is most of them! :)

Re: Here comes trouble...
I know of one more, which resides with Chris and Milca. (dutchology) I sold a female jamp about 7/8 ft to someone in Dublin last year, or perhaps it was the year before!
There are probably a few young Jampeas about, but I would highly doubt there are any more around Ireland at this size - they are few and far between in the UK also - although there are plenty of Jamps floating about over there. Then again, everyone doesn't go on the forums, and you never really know what people may have or not have.
This is the bigger end of the scale with them, many even out at smaller sizes.
