New additions - Madagascan day Geckos

Picked up two of these little jewels from Ady's today. Tiny at the moment and lighteningly fast they are masters of camouflage. Already they have dined out on some locusts and crickets so obviously are not too stressed out.

John, these are perfect little specimens..they're going to be mad colourful in the fullness of time....

very nice john, as i said mine are still in the egg and due more eggs by the weekend i hope, so if you need new blood for breeding in the future keep me in mind

We don't know the sex of our two babies and it is most likely that we will need a change at some time in the future, we will certainly keep it in mind.

What do you mean 'talked me into getting these' surely you know by now that we men have very little say in these matters, when a woman makes her mind up we just have to give in gracefully! (or leave)
To make matters worse I have to say that I am getting to like these little chaps more and more each day so now I'm getting the 'I told you so' comments.

Definitely not - well perhaps! Ok yes she will (but only after I get all the dartfrogs I want ) and I really do have to pay the elec bill soon or we will all be sitting in the dark.

Caught this little chap in the middle of a shed, it was amazing to watch as he simply grabbed a mouthful of loose skin and ripped it off and then ate it. Not what we are used to at all (our beardies and Tegus more or less slough off their old skin over a number of days whereas this gecko tore all of the skin right off ). The whole shedding process lasted no more than five minutes. Fascinating when he got to his legs and feet , the old skin came off like a pair of long gloves (inside out)

Some great shots John. It is fascinating isnt it. I remember the first Crestie I watched and thought wtf is going on here because it wasn't what I was expecting at all but if I manage to see it which isnt often at all then I will sit and watch.
