Re: what made u choose that
I used to keep a bit of everything but decided to cut back to those few that I really liked - which were mainly carpet pythons. I think its because they are all sizes, shapes, colours and patterns, have no real husbandry issues / problems, make great display snakes and have nice big chunky heads. They also have loads of big heat-sensitive pits, oh and BLUE tongues :)
My big male Coastal carpet Darwin is probably my favourite as hes a big puppy and the first carpet I got that is part of my current collection.

Re: what made u choose that
I have a selection of a few different types of snakes, some where impulse, some I saved up for and others were given to me as they were no longer wanted by the previous owner.
Stumpy my big male royal was my 2nd snake, I have had him since a hatchling and boy did I have trouble with his feeding at the start! He is now heading for 7 and he would def be my favourite on the emotional side- whether its cos I have had him so long, or cos we worked through things as we went along, I dont know?
On pure aesthetic appeal, it would be a tough call between my albino boa, my mojave and my pastel royal. I suppose it would be the albino boa! :)

Re: what made u choose that
Currently I have: 1 Royal Python, 1 Western Hognose and 5 Cornsnakes. The Royal was my first snake again in just over 20 years (my last one was also a Royal), and if I'm telling the truth, it was my eldest daughter's desire to own a Royal that lead me this way (plus Morelia's cunning ability to install a fascination in snakes with me - you've alot to answer for Karl! ). The corns came next: first a snow, then a blood-red, amel ,Carolina and anery. Of these, the snow is my favourite because she's a really nice 'way about her'. On looks alone, the Carolina's my favourite as I don't think you can better the colouration of these corns. Overall though, the Hognose is my favourite snake for a number of reasons: her attitude, her activity, her reluctance to turn down a feed, and, if snakes can have one, her character. Hopefully I'll eventually have more Hognoses, plus a few other species in the future; I certainly know which species I have in mind!

Re: what made u choose that
Without question it has to be solid snake because my partner emma talked me into buying him. I now have 3 kings, a corn, a royal, a trinket and you can read the rest from my profile but i was always wanting a snake but never brave enough to just go do it. The other half talked me into it and solid was first on the scene. He always be the number one man.

Re: what made u choose that
Thanks to Per I now have a strong liking to Retics (thanks Per & Lauren!!)
They are different to any other snake in many ways. Their demeanor is different, their intelligent, their feeding response is nothing short on lightning and scary, their great to interact with. Just a great species and you always need that extra air of caution when working with them. Somehow I get a serious buzz out of this !!!
Having said that I do also have a big thing for Carpets. These are a wonderful species and I can clearly see why Karl is so focused on them. Very rewarding animals to have and work with.
If there is one snake out there that I could have (but I wont get one) is the African Gaboon Viper. To me it is the prettiest snake in the world. hands down.
Cheers

Re: what made u choose that
for me it would have to be the brb i had about 4 or 5 years ago unfortunatly i had to get rid of it due to an unforseen incident involving my nephew getting the tank unlocked and weel it doesnt take much to fill in the blanks! But for me it was the best never the biggest snake but it showed me on a daily basis that it didnt need to be! always a fighter so quick and so stuning looking amazing snake all round

Re: what made u choose that
well, ive got 2 corns and a royal!
favourite snake would be my snow corn, not got a name for him (afaik its a him) but reason i took him is when my mate eamon got a female corn who was unexpectedly preggers and dropped eggs, i went to help with the feeding
i held this wee snow for a good half hour wile the rest were checked on and i gave him his first feeding (took it straight away with a strike)
and at that point that wee boyo was for comin to live with me! lol
it was almost like we had a bond from day one! lol
but deffo second favourite is the royal, shes a wee beauty, and altho ive only had her now like 3/4 weeks, shes really suprised me!
ive been told royals are tempermental and that, ok she does curl up a bit when i first handle her, but then shes fine! and eats like a champ!
ok, theres my short story finished! lol
