What do you make of this?

As the title says what dou you makle of this. Its a capondro, it came from a melanistic Irian Jaya carpet python x sarong GTP breeding, i'm not sure what to make of it, just wondering what everyone elses oppinions are

I think it's wrong IMO.
Whoever did it, did it for money and probably no other reason...

seeing as they wouldnt have been sure if it would have been successful or not, and would have guessed that if it did work the fertility level would be low i'm afraid i have to disagree with you there joe, most likely it was first done out of curiosity and i have to say the result looks fantastic!!

It does look pretty cool Ted, something still tells me it's a bit wrong though, i'm conflicted on this one................

naw Lisa that one just looks like a mess, is it from a similar pairing?

It's a carpondro, but not sure what locality GTP or what type of carpet was involved...really don't like it!

That looks like a Yasser Moustafa Carpondro, especially if its from a melanistic IJ crossing. He produces some outstanding Morelia, both pure, intergrades and hybrids, hence why his Carpondro is stunning. Most look as lot less impressive.

Its not a cross I like a whole lot, I agree that they all look much better when bred pure. The breeding is interesting though as it validates the close relationship between GTPs and other Morelia.

Lisa, is that 2nd Carpondro from a GTP x Jungle carpet crossing?

Cool, they have a slightly different look to them depending on the locality of GTP and subspecies of carpet python - but I still prefer them in their pure forms. Let the hybrid debate continue...

I agree karl although i tjought this guy was pretty funky looking.

Some are stunning when still juvenile though very few carry their good looks into adulthood unfortunately

im all for hybrids, its not wrong, murdering women is wrong. but when i think about it there are few hybrids that are nicer than the parent species...

Depends on the individual situation and the species involved for me personally - for both creating hybrids and murdering women!

I would not consider co-housing many species from completely different environments and would certainly not consider trying to breed them together. Then again, I'm not against hybridisation - but species would have to have very similiar husbandry requirements and preferably be from a similiar environment...etc...etc....

Have to say think don't think hyrids are the way forward.

Has anyone tried to breed them ?
I know other animals that have bred have not been able to produce offspring think it is natures way of saying no to things like that.

hmmm...im not big with pythons, but it looks cool tho hybridising is something that some people will see diferent in, like dogs loads are actual hybrids that where bred for purpose,some examples are-boxers german shepherds rottwhilers and loads more, tho only hybrid that im truly fastenated by is the burmball, would like one but im not sure it would be right....

just thought half gtp? wonder what affect that will have as it gets older....

dogs arent hybrid. just different breeds of the same species..............
