Look who is settling in ever so well!
It's Prick!
She's becoming a firm favourite already. She was extremely shy for the first week, and preferred to hide away from us, just emerging from her sleeping quarters at night to have some fun on her wheel and eat her dinner!
As you can see, last night she felt brave enough to come out and about while we were in the living room with her. And she didn't even try to prick me as I picked her up
I can't thank John (Snakeboyadam) and Nikki enough for giving me the opportunity to have this lovely girl, and for taking the time to show us around his fabulous collection of beautiful and extremely well cared for animals. It is much appreciated

hi Lisa
Really delighted to see that Prick has settled down so well and that you are pleased with her.
It was great to meet you both again and thanks for the comments on our collection.
Its nice to chat to people on the forum but even better to meet in person and chat about common interests.
cheers

Yes Storm! but we have no problem if you want to change it Lol (mind you we think 'Lisa', as we had named her, was a more appropriate and nicer name than 'Prick')

Storm is lovely :) Saves me using more brain energy than I need to.
As for Prick - I asked Jake did he prefer that or Dorothy (he loves Wizard of Oz), and he was up for Prick big time. when we brought her home, we took her into the house in her box, Jake reached in to pet her before I could even think to stop him, and he was pricked!
Lisa is definitely overrated as a name

I've no idea how I missed this, I'm so sorry Lisa. Prick is a very nice little hog, what age was she when this photo was taken? She has a flake look to her.
Can you get me some more images of her now so I can see her quills in detail please if you wouldn't mind? Lisa do you want a cert for her? I've put hogs on the burner trying to sort rabbit club stuff which is a total pain but I have a few owed to people now and wondered if you wanted one for this little girl. I'll add you to the growing list haha

Don't be a goose Tan, you can't keep up with every single post on the forum at all times! I've started to call her Prickles, as Prick just sounds so nasty. Jake insists on calling her Prick still though
That photo was taken about a week after we brought her home. I'm not too sure how many weeks she was exactly when we picked her up? John?!
I'll take some more shots for her this evening.
What is the story with the certs? Is that for the National Hedgehog Registry? x

Yes, they go into my data base which records ALL captive hogs in Ireland inclusive of wildlife and this information is merged with the main database in the States. The UK have a branch too but advertise as a separate body calling them selves the UK pygmy hog something but they are not. We're all one in the same. They also set up a reg for Long Ears after we'd started recording them a few years back, silly when we should all be working together but it all goes to the States.
