Look what I got!!
OK, so probably not as exciting as any of the other spids to go up onsite but I have a huge thing for jumpers and these little guys are just fantastic. I haven't managed to get one decent face on shot as they keep jumping on the camera and due to their size and speed, this pic will have to do but if you could see them head on you'd know why I think they are just adorable.
Re: Look what I got!!
Cool Tan although rather you than me, I'd rather have ones that keep all 8 legs firmly planted on the ground. What size do they get to?
Re: Look what I got!!
He's adult Marty and tiny. Not the species I am ultimately after but really interesting all the same. A little bigger then our little Zebra guys but very cute. Totally harmless and they seem very inquisitive.
Re: Look what I got!!
That is cooool! I like the jumpers too, well the native Zebras, not sure about other species as never seen any others in the flesh yet.
What species is it Tan? What do they feed on?

Re: Look what I got!!
As far as I am aware and what I was told is, he is a Mediterranean Jumper but I cannot seem to locate his Scientific name (I have it somewhere) and he along with the others are on fruit flies but I may just offer him something teeny like micro and see what he makes of it.
This is what I am ultimately after (but very hard to find)
Cutest Jumper Ever
Now no one can look at that and say it is not adorable. How beautiful is that face?

Ha
So you finally have been bitten (not literally) by the bug of keeping spiders. This must be the hottest topic on the forum at the moment. Interesting little critter, you mention 'they' so how many have you got, are they sociable?
It will only be a matter of time now before you have a T or two. Bet you have already checked out Chris's list.

Re: Look what I got!!
Thanks guys!!
John, I was really bold. I was to purchase the Jumpers and was given some freebies, one of them is a HUGE Chile Rose but I have this weird scared fascination with her. Shes very pretty but along with pinchy will not live in the house. I don't want to take any risks.
The guy who owned her said he loved her as she was far more active then any other Chile hes ever had but she hates being handled (don't you know I've had thoughts of misidentification and all types or paranoid thinkings lol) and yes I am a total whimp so I'll look like some type of Knight/welder hybrid when anything needs doing with her

Re: Look what I got!!
I'm actually becoming afraid to check new posts on this forum...must dbl check what section posts are in before I click on them!
Ooooh...I can appreciate the beauty of some spiders, but not for me I'm afraid. I'm far too much of a scaredy cat. And did you see the jumping spiders in Eight Legged Freaks?! Watched it with my 3 yr old last week and still getting the shivers everytime I think of it....
Enjoy him anyway Tan!

Re: Look what I got!!
Thank you Don and for the mail.
I read a few times now over a number of different sites, there are over 4000 species of jumpers alone I shall enjoy those links immensely.
