first "real" digital camera
Guys, (and Gals)
my sons growing up quite fast and ive been thinking about getting a decent digital SLR around the £5-600 mark,
i know marty got one not long ago, but that offers over, iv had a look around and seen the nikon D5000 and D3100 both i like the look of and both getting good ratings / reviews.
wondering if anyone has any input as to a decent first "real" camera.
cheers
Paul

Re: first "real" digital camera
i've had a look at the 2 camera's you have mentioned Paul, and both look good. jessops are doing good bundle deals on both camera's
close Nikon D3100 Twin Lens Premium Bundle £669
Nikon D5000 with 18-55 and 55-200mm VR Lenses £579
in my opinion either of these camera's would be a good entry level DSLR, and i can vouch for Nikon, the one i have is very simple to use, or at least i think so.
If you would like to come round to take a look at mine you are more than welcome, i would doubt that there are many differences, opperation wise between mine and those you have looked at,
Marty

Re: first "real" digital camera
If you have a look for the Fuji S5 i think it is around that price and is a fantastic camera.
It is Nikon based but with a Fuji features.
I have the S3 and love the pictures it takes.
Easy to use as well.

Re: first "real" digital camera
I'm playing around here with what is technically Dave's mum's camera. His dad bought it for her but she doesn't use it and it's currently in residence at our place That's the way to do it!
It's a Canon EOS 500D. Anyone else ever use one of these? It's big and heavy and fancy, and will take me a while to figure out how to do anything with it. I've just figured out how to focus the zoom lens
The only prob is the pics are sooo detailed that it takes ages to upload them to the computer...
As for the 4 yr old - Jake is 4 in Feb and already knows exactly what he wants for Christmas. God help me if I don't find an expensive flipping racing car thing he found on some tv ad! Those darn kids channels!
