Re: my african rock python
I think these demand respect, like the burms, but simply terrify me. Sticking to my little guys but best of luck with the breeding plans :)
Re: my african rock python

Re: my african rock python
The only response I have to that is lol
Ok so now I gota ask, WHY, like I get people liking an attitude in an animal and them having a big personality 'n' all but with something like this and I take it he's still got growing to do??

Re: my african rock python
why? because he is a gorgeous looking snake haha. yes he does have a lot of growing to do, but hopefully a lot of taming to do too. in the short time that i've had him he's improved slightly... he doesnt spray, or try to bite as much outside the viv, and the mad loops and swings he makes arent as wild as they used to be. hopefully in a few months time he'll be ok to not 'handle' as such, but manipulate outside the viv for cleaning etc.

I fully agree. He does look beautiful but for me all the other factors outweigh his gorgeousness
Well done btw for all you've managed to do with him so far. It must take some amount of dedication to keep going and have achieved what you have so far in he short time you've had him.
Re: my african rock python
hes gorgeous Ted, id have one of these but trying to talk the other half into letting me get a croc monitor lol
Re: my african rock python
yeah id say his initiall 'badness' was because of stress, i mean, he was in reptile haven before and obviously on diplay with a lot of activity outside his cage, then brought on a 4hour journey to kerry, and so his spitfire attitude coming out of the bag was only understandable, after about 3weeks here, in a viv with only me coming in twice a day to check the cages, and my mom coming in maybe every day to do the laundry (as the washing machine and dryer also live in the snake room) he has a lot of time to ajust. he may never be completley tame, but as long as he doesnt spray and is manouverable outsde the viv i can live with that.
