Bredls Python
I know a few of us have Bredls, but honestly whenever I go over my photos, I can't think for the life of me why they're not more popular than they are.....truly breathtaking animals....and totally recommended...

Re: Bredls Python
Hey Sally, Bredls or Centralians as they're often referred to really are very easy to maintain.... they are naturally at home in a warm arid environment, as desert dwellers in the wild this should be no great surprise...
In my experience these guys are well balanced and tractable, mine never miss a feed and they're great looking too!
Care generally as for other Carpet species just bearing in mind that they are a species that has specialised in an arid environment....if you're interested in other Morelia species, Karl has a link in the breeding and care sheet section that's worth a look...
Any further or specialised info on Morelia species.....our resident expert is Karl...so he's your man!!

Re: Bredls Python
Keep abreast of Karl's updates on the forum, he may have hatchlings later in the year.....
Re: Bredls Python
That is a cracker Bredl's Tony....did it come from Sean?
There are 2 main colour phases in Bredl's, red and chocolate (both nice in their own way).....that male of yours is most definitely a super red!
I can't think why they aren't more popular either, they are the one snake I waited literally 10 years to get and like GTPS I never tire of seeing them.

Re: Bredls Python
Hey Karl, both came from Sean last year...the female is significantly smaller, however, just as striking....forgive the pun....
Re: Bredls Python
Any idea what age they are Tony?

Re: Bredls Python
I believe the male to be an 07.... the female a possible 08, she's a relatively slim 4 and a half foot animal and has a chunk of growing to do long before she'll be paired...
Re: Bredls Python
Here are a few ropey shots of the 08 ♀....again nice colourful animal and superb disposition...

Re: Bredls Python
Stunning snake Tony, sooooooo pretty!! Why did I think these were chunkier, do they get chunkier?
Re: Bredls Python
Sure Tan, they'll thicken out some as they mature, most adult Morelia species are sizeable, however, they remain relatively slender in comparison to some of the thicker bodied snakes, boas, burms, etc. More handleable, more visually spectacular and IMO more fun. Don't forget this one's an 08 so a relative youngster, take a look at Karl's Uluru for a cracking example of an adult.... :D
Re: Bredls Python
OK, sorry, you know I read all the threads, read this each time there is a new post and still thought it was adult. I'm blaming the heat today........blond moments are becoming more frequent
Re: Bredls Python
