Shedding spider
Opened one of the spiderlings pot the other night and found that it had started to shed, it was on its back and we watched it for a couple of hours (how sad is that at 2oclock in the morning) before it had shed completely. Unfortunately didn't think about photos until it had almost completed the shed. Took these couple which are quite interesting
On its back just kicking off the old skin

Almost finished

Still on its back resting after all its exertions

Re: Shedding spider
Not sad and all John, I have sat for many hours, more then I'd like to admit to watching the animals do all sorts but these are great shots. I have never seen a spid/sling shed and find the entire process very interesting so I'm sure I would have happily sat with you guys watching this. How long does it take to harden up?

Same here, Tanya. Though in response to your last sentence, usually with a picture of Kelly Brook, an industrial-sized tin of starch and about 30 seconds works for me - can't speak for John though!!!
