Royal python eggs
Finally its happened after nearly 7 years of patience. I got 5 eggs the 1st of this month. I grew the female up to breeding weight for the first 3 years before I paired her up with her male.Nothing happened each year for the last couple of years. I tried loads of different things. The pair of snakes where locking up no prob. The male was produceing sperm plugs. There was one thing I thought could be the problem. I still cant prove it but. I learned a couple of years ago that some breeders snakes didnt produce eggs untill they where 6 years old.So in a way I was hopeing this is what was wrong with my female instead of other hidden problems. Some of these breeders say that some royals can take up to 6 years to be mature enough. After all this time I missed the eggs being laid. When I did see them they where a little dehydrated. 4 of them are loking much better now they are in the incubator. One doesnt look so good.

I will take pics in a couple of days to show how the eggs are doing

Re: Royal python eggs
Thanks, yeah the computer is a bit all over the place. What I would really like to pop out more than an albino, would be a spider. That way it would prove some peoples thoughts on my albino male. If my albino throws out a spider, that would mean hes an albino spider. The time I purchased my albino, albino spiders where going for crazy money. The other female royals Im not sure. Im checking them regularly. It would be great to get some eggs from my other females. I might sound silly, but what does OT mean. Sorry I dont understand it.

Re: Royal python eggs
Congrats on the eggs. Shame you missed them being layed but at least they arrived after a long long wait. Thats very interesting about the age. Is this something many breeders come up against, or is it more of a rare occurance?
Re: Royal python eggs
I thought thats what you ment Ovulation.Just wasnt sure thanks. A few breeders had this happen to some of there snakes. The majority of royals bred at 3 years of age and around 1500 grams.

Thanks I will have to get a microscope and check the males plugs. The others are still locking up on and off with the males. You never know.
