Little sanzi
Very small still at 20 months old, but just gorgeous and I LOVE her. Even though she had a good old swipe at my face as soon as I put the camera down.
Please ignore the urates on the madagascan fern, cleaned now!

Re: Little sanzi
Stunning Lisa. These have been on my wants list for quite a while now. I have a few friends with Green phase that I am hoping will produce litters from in the near future. Otherwise, the more common to obtain are Mandarin phase. As much as I love them, they can get big. I remember my buddy Clive Osbourne had a pair that was close to 7 feet and as thick my arm at their mid body.
Aside from those, I am still very tempted to a pair of Timor pythons, despite the great difficulty in breeding them. Not everything is for breeding however.
Do you have a male to go with that one?

Re: Little sanzi
Thanks Warren. Ben has an adult pair of each phase in the shop at the moment, and they certainly do get large - the mandarins more so I believe, but the greens he has are a very good size. Very thick and very strong!
I actually found the mandarins much more difficult to get than the greens, and came across quite a few for sale before I finally found a female mandarin. When I got her, I don't think I realised how much they dull down with age, and the greens don't seem to to such an extent.
Out of all the people I've spoken to keeping these, I've only spoken to one person who has continuously bred them successfully -a lady called Heather from Scotland. She has bred some fabulous yellow phase sanzinia.
She's holding an 05 male for me, who is a sibling of the yellows and I'm picking him up at doncaster in June. My girl is years away from any attempts to breed, but I just enjoy keeping her.
The timors are fabulous. I came across this recently and had a read -
Barker, D.G. & T.M. Barker. 1996. The Lesser Sundas Python (Python timoriensis): Taxonomic History, Distribution, Husbandry, and Captive Reproduction. Pp. 103-108. in: Strimple, P.D. 1996. Advances in Herpetoculture. Spec. Publ., Int. Herp. Symp., 1: 1-167.
I'd love to get my hands on some Boelens - just to keep them really. I think they're stunning.

Re: Little sanzi
Said it on the other forum Lisa...a real crackerjack sanzinia....I mean it's just perfection isn't it??
Re: Little sanzi
Super looking snake Lisa, I love the arrow shaped heads on these guys, they're very pronounced on the adult pair that Ben has. And I second your thoughts on the Boeleni, I'd like to think that one day, in the not too distant future, I'd find myself in the position to invest in a pair.

Re: Little sanzi
surely you can't have mised the adult greens Ben has in the shop Tan - he recently acquired a pair of adult mandarins also. Perhaps I'll manage to tease them from him, gently does it
Martin, the heads are soo arrow shaped, and you can't see it very well on this girl in these pics but it has been pronounced since we got her in Germany as a neonate. They almost give off hte impression that they are venomous, the head is so wide.
I'm with you on the Boelens, stunning animals and pics do not do them any justice at all. I hope I can find the funds for a pair in the not too distant future also

Thanks guys, they're great :)
Tommy - I've had her for over a year and a half...not a new addition, but I haven't posted pics before I don't think
wama -gerat as these are, tics definitely have to take priority
