Two-Tone Tongue??
Hey guys,
I picked up a little boa today, and when it flickered its tongue, I noticed that it was all black, except it turns solid red just before the fork..
So, just wondering has anybody seen this before?
For all I know it could be a common occurrence that I have just never seen before in a boa before, but I thought it was cool all the same!
No pics yet, but I will try to get one of the tongue as soon as he settles in a little.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Two-Tone Tongue??
Yeah it seems to occur from time to time, as i found out on a thread on another Irish forum.

Steve Martin posted some pics of a Bcs with the exact same thing going on, only the colours were reversed! It just caught my eye as something interesting, and as I wouldn't have kept as many snakes as a lot of others, I said I'd look to see if others noticed it before. Pretty cool I thought!
I got a little hypo Nic from Ben, he got a few little corkers in Hamm. Happy with it Phil, really happy, although he is pocket sized and much growing to be done!
No rush here though, I'm just happy to have a male for my other Nics now! Maybe i can look at getting a nice jungle this summer now lol!

Yeah, eventually...!
It came up out of the blue too, I was going to wait till June to pick one up, then a few popped up right here in Dublin; happy days. Just need to get a few solid feeds into him now

Missed this post there Phil,
the pinkies did the trick mate, you were right about trying it on something smaller, it must have been what he was used to, because he coiled around his prey for the first time since I got him. He will still take some care to get motoring at full speed, but thats not a bad problem to have, it was rewarding to see him coil an feed! Cheers

Re: Two-Tone Tongue??
well you suggested a smaller feed than what I had been trying! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which done the trick, should be grand now that he has fed once or twice, happy days!
Pinkies were the magic ingredient [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
