New Brachys
I acquired a few new Brachypelma yesterday. This is my favourite T genus of all so I'm chuffed to get these dudes.
Mexican Flame-knee Brachypelma auratum
Mexican Redleg B. emilia
Mexican Fireleg B. boehemi

Re: New Brachys
They are all stunning but that fireleg is awesome isnt he. Did Mr Lyons hook you up with these?
You know what's really cool, if you look at the pattern on the Mexican red knee, the upside down triangle, it looks like an evil bat with wings extended. He's got glowing eyes 'n' all can anyone else see that?

Re: New Brachys
Mr. Lyons sorted the boehemi for me yep :)
I see the bat alright - you must stare at photos for ages to see these things!

Re: New Brachys
Karl, I hate to say they kinda jump out at me and I don't always post what I see but it's definitely a lot fun in my head most of the time
Re: New Brachys

Re: New Brachys
Thanks John, the emilia and boehemi are about 3" legspan and the auratum is a little larger, I'd guess with a 4" legspan.

Great shots of these beauties.
I must say that you were as pleased as punch on saturday with these guys (or girls).
And I bet that you'll be pointing that macro lens at the molts when the come.

I'm still over the moon Ian, I can't help a peek every few hours LOL. Once they settle in I'll be looking at those epigastric furrows - although I've been reliably told they're all females.

Re: New Brachys
I'm too much of cynic to believe anyone selling Ts telling me they are female. :)
It's like a car-dealer telling you the car he's selling will only last 2 more months.

Re: New Brachys
I agree Ian, I like to check myself and then if anything is wrong I only have myself to blame :)
I agree Tony / Raymond, the emilia is a beaut of a T and the first one that made me want to learn more about the Brachypelma group; but the boehemi comes a very, very close second!

Re: New Brachys
There's nothing wrong with a male T, their lifespan is not as long as females on paper but how many people do get their females to live for 25 years anyway.
