Re: White-striped Birdeater T
Looks like a severe case of male pettern baldness but hes very nice. You really are getting a great collection together. So whats he like temperament?
Re: White-striped Birdeater T
What a stuuner Karl, you really have been bitten by the T bug lol is he big?
Re: White-striped Birdeater T
Tan - not sure on temperament of this T just yet, I think these guys are meant to be quite flightly but I guess time will tell.
Marty - shes kinda juvenile size - not sure on the whole naming thing with regards to size in T's just yet LOL. Biten by the bug is right - the South American T's have a real appeal for me.

Re: White-striped Birdeater T
Hi Karl
Absolutely stunning photography, lovely spid too. We found the white striped variable in temprement some were very flighty while others were ok to handle.
As you say they are really addictive, we got up to about 40 odd spids before we realised what had happened! The South American T's are my fav too, most are calm enough to handle but some can be real flickers. Whats next on the shopping list?

Re: White-striped Birdeater T
Thanks John, first-hand experience is always good to hear. I'm more of a look-and-don't-touch animal keeper so temperament doesn't bother me too much, as long as I have a few handlable animals I'm happy
Next on my list are Brachypelma boehemi and B. emilia, and I quite like some of the Avicularia species too. I'm sure if I done some more digging I would find more, so I have to stay off the internet as much as possible LOL.

Good choice Karl, the boehmi is probably the most striking spid we have with its bright red legs, we don't handle ours as she is a bit of a flicker. The emelia is one of the most popular species to handle and are really long lived (females can get up to 35 years or more - our slings will probably outlive me at that rate ) We've only dabbled with the avics and not found them to be as interesting as the terrestrials (had intended to get more hence the vivs I got made and now for sale on the forum, but have now decided that one is enough (a pink toe).
