Salmon Boa Empty Salmon Boa

Post by Big Dogg Thu Sep 23, 2010 4:02 pm

Got this guy about a fortnight ago. He was really dark when I got him, so was unsure of his health. I've kept him in a tub with a good temp and he has just shed and is looking alot better now. A lot brighter too.

When I first got him:

Hoping to get this guy up to breeding size for next season (that's if I can get a breeding size female common by then lol)

lol good looking wee guy, nice reduced pattern..

next years gona be a fun season for salmon boas, your possibly breeding yours, phils possibly breeding his, and my female will be up to size also so i might be, possibly too. lol

mind phils an established breeder so hes got the edge on us. lol

so if all goes to plan there should be some unrelated blood floating about as mines from hamm.

That's a nice Salmon. What a difference a shed makes. So we'll be flooded by baby boa posts next year, possibly Salmon Boa 772154

Thats a beautiful salmon big dogg, looks like a completely different snake in the second picture, just goes to show how much different a shed can make.

Looks like all that may have been "wrong" with him was he was in shed,he looks fantastic now.

Chappers,I only plan on producing a small amount of salmons this year as i have something else planned for my big female! as long as everything works out ofcourse.Plus i dont think there will ever be to many salmons produced, they are beautifull boas. Will be interesting to see who produces some supers first!

Phil, any chance of a Boa Breeding guide (or would that be giving away trade secrets) based on your experience with this species?

Thanks a million Phil. I think you've helped out a good few people in the same boat as me. I really appreciate it!
