Re: New pics
What did you use to seal them ?
I was going to buy the units from Ikea then make the fronts myself.

Well per was at hamm returning to 2 days so I used what i thought to be the barest amount of silicon nessecary so it would dry quick and air out in time for it to be safe......turns out I misunderestimated the minimum needed

Re: New pics
They really are nice. I always love retics, the patterning is so stunning. Not sure it is something I could ever cope with myself though, but I always admire them.

Great pics Lauren, nice 1.
Regarding superdwarfs and jampeas, are they crazy money in general and are they readily available? Whilst I adore the big retics they just aint fo me given the room I have available.

Re: New pics
Cheers guys
Herpalist, depends on what you call crazy money. Bob Clarks sells Superdwarfs and Jampeas at 650usd and 550usd respectively. Honestly they are cheaper again in mainland Europe, he is quite pricey by US standards.
Retic enthusiasts will know the costs of some of the morphs and locales out there and know that dwarfs arent considered expensive. Someone who is getting into the hobby will probably have a different view though :P You for example know what a Kahl strain boa costs and are probably happy to pay that. If I was starting out with two corns and a leo, I 'd think you were crazy.
All about perspective. I personally think theyre cheap for what they are and a good investment. Dwarf retics are the way foward once you start working the morphs in

Re: New pics
Thanks Lauren. It is the size that puts me off. My husband has to work away a lot and I have children, so I need snakes that can be reliably safely handled by one adult. (woman in my case) I know the likelehood of anything happening is extremely rare, but I have to be on the safe side.
How big do the superdwarfs get? Although concentrating on the Royals and corns for now, they are something I might consider in the future.
I agree on pricing too. When I got the corns I thought £200 was pricey, now i have the Royals too, I think something for £200 is cheap.

Re: New pics
The price thing is all about progression. Starting out I was like, 300e???? Now I'm like, hmmmm only 1500e, I could rearrange this, skip that, miss that and then get it. wow thats cheap!!!
Superdwarfs max around 6 -7 foot. Retics are slender bodied in comparison to say a burm so they are quite managable. They will only get more and more popular. Size is the major issue for anyone keeping retics. We have 16 or so in the house, 4 dwarfs and a few smaller locales but at the end of the day, theres still a lotta big snakes!! Trying to hold off buying more but its just so damn tempting lol
If we get babies in the next few season , I'll give you a shout and we can do a mate trade :)
