Yes the mother is a jungle and the grand mother was a stripe, I have to admit as far as I can find out the two seem to be very similar traits, none the less very pretty IMO.

Hi Davy
You are just going to have to wait until they have all hatched before you let Lisa see them, I suspect that it might be a question of how many she wants and not just one

Re: More babies
Very nice John! The one on the right looks more like a mack snow than a normal to me, although pics can be deceiving. Looks white and black as opposed to the yellow and black colour of normals. Any mack snow heritage?

hi Lisa
thanks for the thoughts, I did think it was more black and white than any of its siblings, it would be great if it was a mac snow as thats one morph I would really like.
The only possible hets that we were aware of was tremper albino, jungle and stripe as well as being possible giant.
Both our females have laid far more eggs than we were expecting (14 and 12 respectively) They are both only a year old so I was a bit worried that it is going to take a lot out of them. However I have been feeding them up well and weighing them every few weeks, neither has lost weight since they started laying and indeed one of them has put weight on!
Hopefully they will stop soon.
How has your own breeding season gone so far?
cheers
John

Re: More babies
After hatching out dozens of normals, that one looks very much our mack snows of this season from that pic I think!
I've had lots of mack snow het albinos from our supermack snow tremper albino male and normal female. Have had a frustrating time with the supergiant female who is absolutely enormous now, but we just can't get any eggs from her. I've only tried the one male with her and don't have any other morph males to try with her.
Also had some lost eggs after some of the girls had issues with new vermiculite I used - they all refused to lay in it so i had dried up eggs. I'm ready for them next time and they're building heavily so should have some more morphs on the go soon!
I was the same last yr with wishing they would stop! I don't think they would lay so many if they were not in excellent condition, so I'm sure they'll be fine. My normal female never loses any condition when laying eggs - she's a savage. I don't find the morphs we have as good that way, perhaps that's just my bad luck!

Hi Lisa
Does that mean the mack snow is co dominant or is the normal female het for mack snow?
Have you any pics of yours and are they all spoken for as it is one of the morphs that I really would like.

Re: More babies
Yup John, you're right - it's codom. The normal female has no hets as far as I am aware.
all the babies so far are gone, but we do have more incubating for female at the moment that are due quite soon! And probably more after that also :)
Here's a pic of one of the mack snow hatchlings from earlier in the yr
And for comparison, here's one of the normals we hatcched last yr

Re: More babies
Hi Lisa
Thanks for the info, am I right in thinking that a codom can't be carried as a het, it either has to have it and show it or not at all.
In that case as the pair of leos which produced the very black and white baby are a normal and a jungle (normal coloured) then the baby can't be a mack snow (unfortunately).
Cheers
John

Re: More babies
You're right John, I was wondering if perhaps one of the parents was a mack snow combo - it's not always terribly obvious as so many leos have so much going on genetically these days!
SOrry about being so slow on the pics, got totally carried away with new baby boas, but will get some up for you over the weekend!
