Haha! I have a bunch of photos from this place Marty!
I didn't want to go on a 'tacky sun holiday', I'm definitely more of a backpacker type. But we had a fab time, did loads and will definitely go back again. (even if it's just to go to the a-ha bar in santa Ponsa
)
Nice pics

it's a super place to go on holiday Lisa. the first time i went, i thought it was just like a place to go for a drinking session then go and die off on the beach, i was pleasantly surprised to find out i was wrong and that there was actually a lot of great things to do.
Did you ever go horse riding at rancho grande when you were there?

Where do you stay when you go over Marty? We were at the very top of those steps in santa Ponsa - not so good! But we had a ball anyway, made some good friends from Dublin there we're still in touch with. We keep talking about going back! Ahhhh...sunshine... !
I got the leaflet for Rancho Grand from our rep and was mad to go but nobody would go with me... Did you go? Were the horses in good condition if so? I got into a bit of a fight with a horse carraige driver in Palma...it absolutely broke my heart the state of all those horses. That's the only thing that would put me off going back. I still get upset thinking about it. And the stupid tourists paying the drivers for carting them around with horses that are almost dead, bones sticking out everywhere...

I have a couple of friends that I would go and see when I'm over, they're original from cloughjordan Co Tipperary. We always stay in either Palma Nova or Magaluf and we've been lucky in that we always manage to get 100m from the nearest shop and beach.
I went to Rancho Grande for the first time this year. Some of the horses were a bit under weight. What disappointed me most was that I went in the advances group which meant you were supposed to get up to a gallop. Some of the others in the advanced group looked like they had never seen a horse before never mind rode one and it slowed everyone else down.I barely got my horse up over a canter. I got told off several times for overtaking the instructor, my horse just wanted to go. Apart from that they put on a good day for everyone, if you aren't up for riding a horse you can go in the wagon.

Thanks Steve, it is brilliant, they have a dolphin, sealion and bird shows, in addition to that they have an extensive exotic bird collection, reptiles and small primates. You can also pay extra and take part in the dolphin experience where you get to interact with the dolphins.

Sounds awesome.
Might have to see about a trip over later this year always good to know that place is worth visiting beforehand.
