lost and found!!!
ok as tan knows my rat sake escaped about month ago,
well to day my neighbor went to walk their dog around the feild at the back at there house (across the road)
about 15-20 mins ago the doorbell went "have you lost a snake?"
i looked at her confused and then quickly said yes
will i went grabbed a hook and a box
walked about 200 yrds down a field and there he was just crawling along, and with no hesitation i picked him up!
now hes back here with me,
also within the last day or two he had himself a feed!!
so careful examination will be carried out in the next few weeks!
pics coming soon

Re: lost and found!!!
I have to say that really is a lucky find Hudsy, really lucky. I'd say your as interested as I am knowing he hunted and you missed it but where there's a will......I would have loved to have seen that myself tbh & see where he's been & who he's encountered on his journeys. I bet he'd have a story or two to tell.
Now remember to padlock his house, alarm it and put guards out side & keep him there lol

Re: lost and found!!!
When you described it when you first got it I thought it sounded like a Bairds and now I think it looks like one too, a Texas. I could be wrong.

When did he last shed, I wonder if he is going to? One of my bairds does the very same thing and is very defensive for the entire shed cycle and another doesn't care a bit lol

Re: lost and found!!!
Hudsy, I would say that what you have there is a yellow rat snake...I had a few of theses years ago, they vary in colour from yellow to almost drab green and all display the longitudinal dorsal stripes...that's my guess anyway!!
Re: lost and found!!!
As I said I could be wrong and many Bairds vary too but it could be a yellow aswell, can you give us more detailed pics maybe??
